The Process

IMG_3596The process is at its very heart a creative collaboration between the designer and the client.  The designer begins by listening to the client’s desires both for her dress and for her special day.  Within the framework set by the overall style and theme of the event, the designer proposes sketches that she feels aesthetically represent both the best design to fit the event styling and the best design to compliment the client herself.  The designers goal is to create a gown that enables the client to feel and look her absolute best–an achievement reserved for those careful creations that not only look stunning on but are also comfortable to wear.

A custom dress is a process that begins with a dialogue of ideas that shape themselves into sketches that are worked and reworked until the client is satisfied.

Once a sketch is approved, a muslin is made of the proposed gown.  At this stage, the gown’s design and fit is perfected during the fittings.  It is during the muslin phase that the client and designer can edit the dress as they see fit, working together with the fabrics and trims to make perfection.  Every part of the process is completely individualized…no two dresses the designer makes are the same…each gown is made just for each client.

Once the muslin is approved, the designer creates the final dress.  The final dress is the culmination of months of design and fittings and is without question a work of  art made specifically and absolutely for the client.
